Supporting Women in HVAC

Posted September 1, 2023

Air Masters of Tampa Bay celebrates International Women's Day, and March is Women's History Month!

Did you know we are a female- owned company?

Our Co- owner Beverly Bosley is also one of only 1.4% of women in the US who are licensed mechanical contractors! A very elite distinction we are quite proud of.

A majority of our management team is also made up of gifted, strong, talented women.

Marilyn Mack is our Maintenance and Customer Service Manager, Jennifer Raulerson is our Office and Payables Manager. Casey Blevins serves as our Dispatch Manager, and Nikki Baker is our Receivables Manager.

We are among the many growing, successful HVAC companies across the U.S seeing more women joining the HVAC industry.

One of the biggest challenges women face in the HVAC industry is representation. There are not a whole lot out there, so it's challenging to find role models or support networks.

But opportunities are out there if you know where to look!

There is an entire organization in place to support women in the HVAC field! Women in HVACR offer support and nourishment for women in this trade.

They Offer:

  • Sponsorships
  • Scholarships
  • Memberships
  • Events
  • Mentorships
  • Education
  • Networking Opportunities

How to Become an HVAC Technician

The job outlook for HVAC technicians is looking good. According to latest research and reports, the number of openings in this field is expected to grow by 13% over the next 5 years!

What You Need To Get Started

  • Most HVAC companies require a High School education. If you're still in school, focus on the sciences, mathematics, and shop classes.
  • Earn an HVAC certificate. This takes less than a year to accomplish and can teach you diagnostic skills, how to use your equipment, and basic mechanical, electronic, and electrical skills.
  • Shadow/Intern with the pros. You'll gain useful experience as an apprentice, pick up tips and tricks, and make contacts within the industry. You will be much more attractive to potential employers with this type of knowledge on your resume.
  • Become a specialist and add additional education to your experience. The more certifications you have puts you ahead of the competition. Keep up with the HVAC trends and stay ahead of the curve with your education.

We honor you, Ladies, and all of the hard- working women who work to make our own company a success daily!! Thank you. It's why "Love Is In The Air" here at Air Masters of Tampa Bay.
